"Over
5 million working days are lost each year due to back pain "
Many
of us sit or stand for long periods at work. If the body is not free
and balanced during that time it isn't surprising that we return home
exhausted and at worst, in pain. Headaches, neck pain, backache and RSI are increasing problems. Correct
workstation layout is very important as are adequate breaks. However
this is only part of the answer. The best layout and furniture makes
little difference if the body is habitually being held out of shape.
What is required is a change in the "manner of use"
At
presentations the largest part of any communication is visual. When
a body is agitated, tense or slumped this is being communicated. Once
again a persons manner of use is of vital importance.
I
have worked with individuals from a wide variety of business organizations
and the public sector. This includes the BBC where I was employed to deal with
upper limb disorders (RSI) and backache.
